Notes:

El Estudiante de Salamanca is one of the most emblematic works of 19th-century Spanish literature. In it, José de Espronceda tells a story based on the Don Juan archetype, beginning in a seemingly realistic world that gradually transforms into the fantastic. Sublime y oscuro takes verses from the work, evoking the final scene where Montemar follows a spectral bride into a ghostly wedding that becomes a dance of death.
