Vénen d’allà sets to music a fragment of the poem that Teodor Llorente dedicated to Francesc Viñas. The friendship between the Valencian writer and the Catalan tenor is reflected in verses written after a performance of Lohengrin at the Teatro Principal in Valencia. The poem was published in Las Provincias on 27 January 1889, one day after one of Viñas’s performances.
